Name of business: EEZ Acres
Owner’s name:
Mike & Lynn

How long have you been in business?  We’ve had our farm in Freeport since 2005. This is our 2nd year at the Seaside Market as EEZ Acres.

How long have you lived in the area and where are you from?  We have lived in Santa Rosa Beach for 17 years. Lynn came to Florida from Penn. in 1985. I came from Alabama in 1981.

How far do you travel for the market?  We are Blessed to be only about a 15 minute drive away.

What products do you offer?   Our claim to fame is Lynn’s fresh home made “fruit and savory” ( squash & tomato ) pies. She also cans her own jelly, and hot pepper spreads. To round it all off, she bakes her own flavored breads ( apple, peach, zucchini, blueberry, whatever’s growing in the garden ). In addition, she has her very special whole wheat breads too.  Our gardens in SRB & Freeport make an occasional appearance, offering fresh herbs and veggies. Otherwise, it all goes either into our pies, or to our cellar. Our pecan pies are filled with nuts from our orchard in Alabama.

What makes your items special or unique?  EEZ Acres only puts on our table, what we can bake the day / night before. So everything is as fresh as we possibly make  it. We have the sleep deprivation to prove it! In addition, Lynn actually grinds her own wheat just before baking the whole wheat goods. All the nutrients / vitamins are present when they go into the oven. Our emphasis is on freshness and home grown ingredients. If we don’t grow it, we try to get it from one of our neighbor farmers or family members, who do. We keep it as natural as possible too. Our neighbors horse farm plays a key role in fertilizing.

Is there anything new on the horizon? New products, seasonal items or specials?  We’ve been baking, canning, and growing food for ourselves as long as we’ve been together. It’s how we found the Seaside Market. We are always looking for new and better gardening systems, crop ideas, and cooking with new recipes. When we find something that works on our own table, we pass it on to our Seaside Market table. Come see us and find out!
